A Bed for Every Head

At Gallilee Center we believe that every person should have a safe place to stay. Our shelter offers dignity, safety and wellbeing to the working poor and families that have nowhere else to go. Without our shelter, they would be forced to sleep in fields or cars.

Over the past years the need for shelter has grown beyond our current capacity. To meet that need, Galilee Center is now planning a major expansion: the addition of a 6,000 square feet emergency shelter which will allow us to double our capacity for overnight stays.
To bring this vision to life, we have a goal of raising 2 million dollars.

Plans

Our current emergency housing is facilitated in our large community room, where cots are pulled out every night for sleeping. The new building will feature two separate dormitory type rooms for male and female clients and will ultimately double the sleep number capacity. This in turn, will allow our current community room to be used how it was originally intended: air-conditioned community dining, special events, community meetings, cooling center, and more.

Architectural plans are currently under review with Riverside County’s Planning Department.
